Rockwall
Rockwall is a community located near Dallas, Texas, and was formally founded in 1854. It was platted along the National Road of the Republic of Texas, which ran from the Red River to Peters Colony. The city grew when the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas rail line made importing and exporting easy. The first post office was called Black Hill. Rockwall County has a variety of hard and softwood trees, and a great deal of arable land. The eastern part of the county has tall bunch grasses and bermudagrass, and the western part has shorter grasses. The eastern part is also home to some native grass hay meadows. Most pasture land is in clover, Johnsongrass, or bermudagrass.
Rockwall is a part of the Dallas Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is also a part of the US Congressional 4th District. Rockwall is represented by Republican Pat Fallon. The city is located 23 miles east of downtown Dallas. It is considered one of the fastest growing cities in the state, and it has recently been added to the list of Best Places to Live. The city’s population has jumped from 10,486 in the early 1990s to 17,976 today. The city is projected to continue growing another 17% over the next five years.
The downtown area of Rockwall is home to a variety of locally owned shops, restaurants, and entertainment. It is also home to the Rockwall Farmers’ Market, which is open from May through September. In addition to the Farmers’ Market, there are several other events in the city during the summer months. In addition to the farmers’ market, there is also a weekly farmers’ market on Rockwall’s main street. The market features fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as honey from Texas bees. It is open on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to noon.
In addition to the farmers’ market, the city of Rockwall is home to the Rockwall Community Play House. This 84-seat theater has seven plays every season. It is located in the oldest residential building in town. The theater also offers teen and children’s plays.
Rockwall is also home to a local winery, VineCrafters. It produces several wines from its grapes. There are also several breweries in the area, including the Siren Rock Brewing Co. These breweries have a variety of options, including a dozen varieties of beer. The company also offers tours and tastings.
