S30 The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical garden is located at 8525 Garland Road in East Dallas, Texas. It is primarily a cluster of gardens on the shores of White Rock Lake. It offers over 17 different gardens. Each garden has its own theme.
A Woman’s Garden features a terraced walkway, a sunken garden of roses, a Poetry Garden, and 80 varieties of signature Japanese Maples. The garden also features a vista across an infinity pool. This garden was designed by Morgan Wheelock and is a gift from the Women’s Council of Dallas.
The Arboretum also features a children’s adventure garden. This 8-acre interactive garden has 150 imaginative exhibits. It includes plant labs, canopied walkways, and a 9,100-square-foot Exploration Center. The garden has been designed to make children feel connected to nature.
The Dallas Arboretum has been a favorite destination among tourists and locals alike since its inception in 1936. It is one of the most beautiful and award-winning display gardens in the world. It is known for its stunning spring displays of azaleas and other spring bulbs. In spring, the Arboretum features over 2,000 varieties of azaleas. It has been named one of the 15 best gardens in the world by Architectural Digest. Wonderful place.
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical gardens also offer a variety of seasonal festivals, including Dallas Blooms. Dallas Blooms is one of the largest floral festivals in the southwest. It features 500,000 blooming bulbs and is one of the best flower displays in the world. In 2009, The Texas Rangers made their debut at the Arboretum.
The Dallas Arboretum and its staff offer programs for children and adults. Some of the programs include: creative arts, painting roses, and creating cocktail ingredients from plants. These programs are designed to help visitors reconnect with nature and learn about the plants that are growing in the gardens. There is also a seasonal concert series, Cool Thursdays, which takes place in the spring and fall.
The Arboretum also has a children’s interactive garden, Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. This garden is made up of a 9,100-square-foot Exploration Centre and a variety of plant labs. The garden is suitable for children aged 2 to 9. The Garden costs $3 per person, while the admission fee is $10 for adults.
